In my second year, I worked as an intern at China Industrial and Commercial Bank and acquainted myself thereby with the prevalent accounting practices of the country''s financial institutions. I could merely reveal my name, but would that really portray who I was? “We become ourselves through others” claims Vygotsky, but are we all just conformists? The book itself left me highly motivated to pursue philosophical inquiry in greater depth. Through studying A level psychology I have developed a particular interest in social psychology and the influence social pressures can have on behaviour whilst developing vital skills such as the ability to critically analyse a study or theory.
Aspects of each of my A level subjects have influenced my choice of degree. Open mindedness is essential when studying A level politics. The subject itself spurs endless abstract thought, especially when concerning issues such as power. The curriculum has also enabled me to partake in structured debate with the ability to articulate personal views being essential. In addition to oral communication, essay writing is also a key feature of the syllabus and my powers of expression are constantly evolving. My ability to analyse and develop my writing skills has been accelerated through studying English at higher level, my current concentration upon metaphysical poetry and the underlying message behind abstract imagery. Studying AS level history has enabled me to investigate the different reactions to political, social, cultural, religious and economic situations.
I have been a prefect since 2001 and act as a role model to younger students as well as being an ambassador for the school. Good morning teachers! My name is . I’m in Class Eleven, Grade Three from Dalian No. Senior High School in Liaoning Province. It is my great honor to be here for this presentation. To be admitted to the University of Hong Kong, I have always experienced trials and hardships with no regret for many years.
It is really a good memory for me to visit Hong Kong when I was still a primary school student, because Hong Kong has its own excellent geographical location. It has a perfect financial system, information network and mature legal system. The University of Hong Kong is succeeding in front among the famous universities in the world.
I'm eager for going to the University of Hong Kong, and I make a good achievement in Grade One and Grade Two-“get the first and the second”, moreover, I also make a good mark in Grade Three. I’ve got ten top students in every grade for many times, and I won the first prize in the national innovation in the English competition in 20xx.
I take an active park in the school club activities, the vice minister of Astronomy department. I also participated in social practice, and joined the Dalian charity federation volunteer branch and actively participate in volunteer activities. “To study for learning” that I have always thought, but most important thing is I love English, that is my interest. It is I was obsessed with the language that I make the firm confidence to go to the University of Hong Kong. I hope that 4-year professional study in Hong Kong can make me know more about foreign language deeply, improve my translation level, and after graduation, I want to become a qualified translator and I hope I can do what I can do a drive that the angel of the sino-foreign cultural exchanges, let more foreign friends understand our Chinese great nation and long culture. In the foreign friends’ eyes, I hope that “a dream of red mansions” is no longer only difficult language symbol, the foreign novel in Chinese people’s eyes isn’t also difficult to understand, and this will be my greatest glory in my life!
In the future, I believe that I can definitely become a member of the University of Hong Kong someday with my hard work and effort, the passion and dream. I believe I can do it.

Good morning, professors.
I am from university, and my major is . Today ,it’s my great honor to be here. Now let me briefly introduce myself to you.
I am very humorous and easy-going, enjoying a good relationship among my classmates. During the past three years, I have worked very hard at my studies. As a result ,I built up a solid foundation of professional knowledge. I’d like to take the chances to put them into practice via many kinds of projects and contests. Such experience has taught me the theoretical principles and practical methods to carry out research antivities. What's more, now I am good at analysis, with a strong sense of cooperation. I am always willing to achieve higher goals.
In my spare time, I was very active and took part in different social activities, especially the volunteer activities, which cultivated me leadership skills, team spirits and the ability to deal with problems. Besides, books and sports are also my favorite entertainments.
Although I have broad interests in many aspects and grasp the essential knowledge of the major, but I think at present, I can do many things in a superficial level, but not be competent to do things professionally owing to lack of ample knowledge and ability. So I think further study is still urgent for me to realize self-value.
All in all, university, with a highly qualified faculty and strong academic environment is the one which I have long admired. So I hope to enter this college and further my education here.
