在物质生活日益丰裕的今天，“幸福”一词，对许多人来说，日渐陌生、模糊、淡漠了。
现实社会中，感到生活幸福者寡，对生活不满者众，我惶惑不解。前些日子，我去医院看望一位从战火纷纷岁月中，走过来的老领导。他说:“同战争中牺牲的战友相比，我是很幸福的。你们现在生活条件很好，一定要珍惜今天的幸福生活。”
老领导的话在我脑海中萦绕、盘桓，久久不去。什么是幸福?我们今天生活得幸福吗?这些问题，如若磐石，重压于心，让我感到沉闷、窒息。
一天，我猝然想起前年单位征文中的一篇文章《幸福其实很简单》。文中讲述了一位中年妇女每天给他补鞋的丈夫送饭的故事。当丈夫从妻子手中扫过热腾腾的饭时说:“辛苦您了”。妻说:“快吃，一会儿就凉了”。这对平凡夫妻朴拙的对话告诉我，他们是很幸福的。原来，幸福就是对生活的一种体念和感受。一个人被人爱着是一种幸福，被他人理解是一种幸福，宿愿得以实现是一种幸福。幸福其实很简单，它就在我们平凡而单调的日常生活之中，只要我们用一颗平常的心去体念，就会感受到。
幸福是相比较而言，老领导在同牺牲的战友比较中，认为自己能生活到现在是一种幸福。计划经济时期，我们食不盈腹，衣不蔽体，现在衣食无忧，每天都享受着现代文明带来的优越的物质文化生活是一种幸福。比较，让我们看到了社会的变化和发展。比较，使我们不会忘记过去，懂得去珍惜今天的幸福生活。
