春秋战国时，秦国的商鞅主持变法。当时处于战乱之际，为了树立威信，推进改革，商鞅下令在都城南门外立一根三丈长的木头，并当众许下诺言：谁能把这根木头搬到北门，赏金十两。围观的人不相信有如此好事，结果没人肯试。于是，商鞅将赏金提高到50两。重赏之下必有勇夫，终于有人站起将木头扛到了北门。商鞅立即赏了他五十金。商鞅这一举动，在百姓心中树立了威信，变法得以推广。新法使秦国渐渐强盛，最终统一了中国。
而同样在商鞅立木为信的地方，却曾经发生过一场烽火戏诸侯的闹剧。
周幽王为博取宠妃的一笑，下令在都城附近20多座烽火台上点起烽火――烽火是边关报警的信号，只有在外敌入侵需要救援的时候才能点燃。结果诸侯们见到烽火，率领将士们匆匆赶到，当大家弄明白这是君王为博妻一笑的骗局后，都愤然离去。五年后，敌人大举攻周，幽王再次点燃烽火，而诸侯都没有来――谁也不愿再上第二次当了。结果幽王被逼自刎。
一个立木取信，一诺千金；一个帝王无信，戏玩狼来了的游戏。结果前者变法成功，国强势壮；后者自取其辱，身死国亡。可见，诚信是一个国家，一个社会，一个民族生存的必备条件。

5月12日，也就是本周一，四川汶川县发生了7.8级大地震。上台前自己估算了一下，从周一下午两点左右到现在已经大约67个小时了。这几天，各种媒体也都纷纷报道救灾的情况。今年是我国举办奥运会，先是南方雪灾、火车出轨，再是西分裂祖国立，这次又是四川发生7.8级的地震。或许真的应了那句“好事多磨”吧。希望，以后不要再出什么事了……
晚上看新闻——“众志成城，抗震救灾”。看到电视里的报道，房屋倒塌、道路被毁，惨不忍睹……在这次地震中，伤亡最惨重的就是学校了。我记得当时看的是四川台吧，解放军战士从倒塌的教学楼的废墟中把那个年仅十一岁的小女孩儿挖出的那一幕，真的震撼人心。看到她遍体鳞伤的被抬出来的时候，真的心疼！
或许因为女生想的比较多吧，我真的想过，如果这场地震发生在我身上，怎么办？刘畅曾经计算过，如果按现在二十岁，平均年龄80岁计算，我们还只能再活3个这么大，这还是在你身体健康，不出意外的情况下。也曾经和朋友讨论过如果一个人消失了要怎么把她找回来，当然，这里的“消失”仅仅是指搬家、转学等等，现在想来，至少，我们还能知道她在世界的某一个角落活着，某种程度上讲，这已足矣了。
回到原来的那个问题，如果正在上课的我们突然之间地震来袭，死亡，只是一瞬间的事情。当然，有些人会说：“我们可以自救啊”。的确，掌握一定的自救知识是非常必要的，可是，如果教学楼倒塌，这几百名学生与老师，存活的可能性是多么小，这回才是真正的消失了……
最后，还是想呼吁大家，学校组织了这次救灾的捐款活动，请大家伸出援手，帮帮这些在死亡边缘走过一回的人们，告诉他们：我们永远在你们身边，相信，明天会更好！
