篇3:Education(教育)
Aducation is not an end, but a means to an end. In other words, we do not educate children only for educating them. Our purpose is to fit them for life.
In some modern countries it has been fashionable to think that free education for all can solve all the problems of society and build a perfect nation. But we can already see that free education for all is not enough. We find in such countries a far larger number of people with university degrees refusing to do what they think is “low”work, and. in fact, working with one's hands is thought to be dirty and shameful in such countries. But we have only to think a moment to understand that the work of a completely uneducated farmer is far more important than that of a professor~ we can live without education, but we die if we have no food. If no one cleaned our streets and took the rubbish away from our houses, we should get terrible diseases in our towns.
In fact, when we say that all of us must be educated to fit us for life, it means that we must be educated in such a way that, firstly, each of us can do whatever work is suited to his brains and ability and, secondly, that we can realize that all jobs are necessary to society, and that it is very bad to be ashamed of one's work. Only such a type of education can be considered valuable to society.

(Online Education)
being online is no longer something strange in our life. to some degree, it has become part of our daily life. we can do a lot of things online, such as searching for information and communicating with friends far and near. but recently another helpful online activity has become very “in”. that is online education.
why could online education be so popular within such a short period of time? among other reasons, the quick development of the internet should be an essential one, which makes all our dreams of attending class in the distance possible. another underlying reason is the quick development of both society and technology. today, modern science and technology is developing with lightening speed. to catch up with this development we all feel an urgent and strong desire to study. however, due to the great pace of modern society, many people are too busy to study full time at school. online education just comes to their aid.
personally, i appreciate this new form of education. it's indeed a helpful complement to the traditional educational means. it can provide different learners with more flexible and versatile ways of learning. most of all, with online education, we can sick to our jobs and at the same time study and absorb the latest knowledge.

Better education better future演讲稿
Better education better future演讲稿
王乾屹 上外苏河湾Class3
Well, today I would like to address my speech on the topic of “Better education better future”. Obama, the formal president of the USA who is responsible for the well-being of people, and also a good speaker, launches his speech around the word --“responsibility”. Obama lists some different responsibility of the people with different occupations to warn us that no one can shirk his own responsibility, including us.
But what is our responsibility?I think studying is the responsibility we should do now while President Obama thinks finding out what things we are good at and developing it is the true answer. Umm…… In my opinion, maybe it is not discovering the merits as much as contributing to our motherland that we have to do.
In the future, everyone will all play a necessary roll in the social life, maybe a doctor, treating the disease and saving the lives, maybe a cop, arresting the people who commit a crime, or even a farmer, guaranteeing the food and nutrition we need every day.
In the meantime, it is also relevant to our country. We are the new generation of the country and the future is in our hands. In another words, how we are decides how the country is.
To sum up, I strongly believe that a better education establishes a better future, not only just for our future, but also for the future of our society and country.

Better Education Better Future演讲稿
原创: 倪熙城
Hi, I am Natalie. Today, my speech topic is: Better Education Better Future.
At first, I’d like to ask you a question: why do we need to go to school? Maybe some of you do not have the answer. That’s OK. I’ll tell you later. Before that, It’s about my father.
My father was born in 1974 in Chongming. My grandpa and grandma were all farmers. My father had a dream when he was a child, he did not want to be a farmer, he would like to work in big cities. And the only way to achieved his dream, was to go to the university. But my father was poor at English. He couldn’t study in regular universities. So, he found another way, by playing sports. And he really did it. He became the student of Shanghai University of Sport. Now he is a PE teacher. Education changed his life. Just think, if my father didn’t go to the university, if he did not have any talent, what would happen? Perhaps he should work in the fields all day and just earn a little. Perhaps he should work as a farmer all his life!
Now that’s talk about the question: why do we need to go to school? Because education can change people’s life. Just like my father. Knowledge can change our destiny. If we have talent, maybe we will be able to do what we want to do. To be a doctor, or to be an engineer. A better education can make us more knowledgeable, and we will have a better future.
That’s all. Thanks for listening.
教师点评:从身边的事例出发,是演讲中involve audience的好方法,从现场效果来看,同学们都很投入!小倪也是一向的气场全开,棒棒哒!
篇13:家庭教育(Home Education)
家庭教育(home education)
home education, or home schooling, is a phenomenon which is both old and now. it may seem to many like a strange idea, but years ago, it was the norm. george washington and abraham lincoln both received their education at home. and there is a growing trend for children to be educated at home. an estimated two million american children, one source says, are taught in their own homes instead of going to regular schools. the number of support groups, magazines and other resources for home-schooling families is also on the rise. being comparatively rare cases in china, home schooling is repeatedly reported as an attractive and promising alternative.
parents who decide to home-school are not without reasons. many may worry about the quality of education at regular schools. they want to tailor the education of their children to their intelligence and aptitude. they prefer to choose the subjects on their own. they also think caring parents make the best teachers. studies show that many home-schooled children really do very well.
proven benefits of home schooling are obvious. but educating kids at home may not be the right choice for all families. it may not be practical, and dose not constitute an important approach to children education.
with computer aided education more and more available and effective, school education has advantages home education can never catch up with. no family has resources which is adequate for modern education. parents, althoug they are most caring, cannot be competent and qualified as trained teachers. a most discouraging fact is that children taught at home and do not go out to schools will develop strange characteristics which will eventually hinder them when they go out to society. they are sure to lack ability and skills to cope with various intricate relationships which cannot not be acquired through home education environment. and they will end up as crippled.
as the matter stands, home education is not so important as to deserve more merit than is already exaggerated.
篇14:成人教育(Education of Adults)
in today's society, more and more adults return to the university, sit in the classroom, open the textbook again in order to further their education. what they study involves a lot of subjects not only english and computer used in all trades as tools, but also more professional ones such as mba courses. different from the college students who may know little about what they'll major in the college before they are engaged in it, the adults make their choices for some simple and definite reasons, which can be roughly classified into three groups, the requirement of the job market, the desire for higher salary and the need for entertainment and relaxation.
in the era characterized of rapid development of technology,it is not so easy to find or to secure a job for the intense competition. as a result, adults feel what they studied in school is far from enough to deal with the work in hand. thus, “to charge the battery” is listed into schedule by more and more people. for example, mr. wang, an accountant in a big company, suddenly realized it was too hard for him to understand technical terms coming from his young colleagues. and worst of all, they appeared in the program of their new business. so, firmly, he entered for a weekend course on accountancy for a further degree.
but in some cases, people prefer reeducation just for money, which partly results from the professional job title system in china. although virtually unrelated to people's own jobs, a few certificates are fervently pursued by some middle aged men and women just because they are the criteria for a higher title, which means some one hundred yuan or so will be added to their salary. so it's the eagerness to grasp money rather than to study render them to return to the class.it is true that severe pressure of making a living stirs some people to pursue further education. however, this is not the case as far as another group of people are concerned. these people, with domestic and occupational stability, feel a lack of interest in their life. so, they turn to some courses such as music and arts and literature, which may be their childhood dream. education of this type can relax their nerves, make them more graceful and their life more colorful.
mainly for the three reasons mentioned above, an increasingly large number of adults in modern society came back to classroom after they stepped out of the campus. whatever reasons lead to their reeducation, our society benefits a lot from the endeavor of these adults. to name just a few, the workers' quality improves, and the income of education industry increascs... and more people are continuing to join the team of adult learners. by the way, if you pay a little attention to your parents, you'll probably find a brand new college english course which you have just finished is on his or her desk now.
篇15:应试教育(Exam-oriented education)
we might marvel at the progress made in every field of study, but the methods of testing a person’s knowledge and ability remain as primitive as ever they were. it really is extraordinary that after all these years, educationists have still failed to devise anything more efficient and reliable than examinations. for all the pious claim that examinations test what you know, it is common knowledge that they more often do the exact opposite.they may be a good means of testing memory, or the knack of working rapidly under extreme pressure, but they can tell nothing about a person’s true ability and aptitude.
as anxiety-makers, examinations are second to none. that is because so much depends on them. they are the mark of success or failure in our society. your whole future may be decided in one fateful day. it doesn’t matter that you weren’t feeling very well, or that your mother dies. little things like that don’t count: the exam goes on. no one can give of his best when he is in mortal terror, or after sleepless night, yet this is precisely what the examination system expects him to do. the moment a child begins school, he enters a world of vicious competition where success and failure are clearly defined and measured. can we wonder at the increasing number of ‘drop-outs’: young people who are written off as utter failures before they have even embarked on a career? can we be surprised at the suicide rate among students?a good education should, among other things, train you to think for yourself. the examination system does anything but that. what has to be learnt is rigidly laid down by a syllabus, so the student is encouraged to memories. examinations do not motivate a student to read widely, but to restrict his reading; they do not enable him to seek more and more knowledge, but induce cramming. they lower the standards of teaching, for they deprive the teacher of all freedom. teachers themselves are often judged by examination results and instead of teaching their subjects, they are reduced to training their students in exam techniques which they despise. the most successful candidates are not always the best educated; they are the best trained in the technique of working under duress.
the results on which so much depends are often nothing more than a subjective assessment by some anonymous examiner. examiners are only human. they get tired and hungry; they make mistakes. yet they have to mark stacks of hastily scrawled scripts in a limited amount of time. they work under the same sort of pressure as the candidates. and their word carries weight. after a judge’s decision on you have the right of appeal, but not after an examiner’s. there must surely be many simpler and more effective ways of assessing a person’s true abilities. it is cynical to suggest that examinations are merely a profitable business for the institutions that run them? this is what it boils down to in the last analysis. the best comment on the system is this illiterate message recently scrawled on a wall: ‘i were a teenage drop-out and now i are a teenage millionaire.’
篇16:新东方Schooling and Education
新东方Schooling and Education
It is commonly believed in United States that school is where people go to get an education. Nevertheless, it has been said that today children interrupt their education to go to school. The distinction between schooling and education implied by this remark is important.Education is much more open-ended and all-inclusive than schooling. Education knows no bounds. It can take place anywhere, whether in the shower or in the job, whether in a kitchen or on a tractor. It includes both the formal learning that takes place in schools and the whole universe of informal learning. The agents of education can range from a revered grandparent to the people debating politics on the radio, from a child to a distinguished scientist. Whereas schooling has a certain predictability, education quite often produces surprises. A chance conversation with a stranger may lead a person to discover how little is known of other religions. People are engaged in education from infancy on. Education, then, is a very broad, inclusive term. It is a lifelong process, a process that starts long before the start of school, and one that should be an integral part of one’s entire life.
Schooling, on the other hand, is a specific, formalized process, whose general pattern varies little from one setting to the next. Throughout a country, children arrive at school at approximately the same time, take assigned seats, are taught by an adult, use similar textbooks, do homework, take exams, and so on. The slices of reality that are to be learned, whether they are the alphabet or an understanding of the working of government, have usually been limited by the boundaries of the subject being taught. For example, high school students know that there not likely to find out in their classes the truth about political problems in their communities or what the newest filmmakers are experimenting with. There are definite conditions surrounding the formalized process of schooling.

I am writing to apply for the above position as posted in JobsPower.com on January 4. Enclosed please find my resume listing my academic training and professional experience.
As an English Teacher in XYZ College, I successfully taught English and History at the secondary level. Also, I have been a Substitute Teacher in different schools over a three-year period. These experiences allowed me to develop and refine my communication, training as well as organization skills. In addition, I received my Bachelor's degree in Education in 1994 from Any Institute of Education.
I like young people and get on very well with them. Currently I am seeking a well-established school where I can apply my teaching and training skills on the management of students towards higher education. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
Steven Cheung

Every Tuesday and Friday evening sees Miss Li, my neighbor and a secretary in a company rush home after a hard day's work, gulp down her meals and then hurry out to catch the bus for her English class. Miss Li's case is not unique, and now more and more city adults spend their leisure time trying to improve themselves at school or college.
There are a number of reasons for people to go back for their education. Some people, like Miss Li, are doing it to acquire another degree or diploma to impress the society. To them more knowledge, or rather, more credentials means more opportunities for better jobs and quicker promotion.
Other people, especially those who are laid off or out of employment go to vocational school to prepare to return to the job market. They are eager for new skills so that they can be qualified for the jobs in retail trade, administration, education and other service categories to which they are strange because most of them were blue-collar workers in the factory.
There are also people who come to take such courses as Chinese traditional medicine, painting, calligraphy and photography. As their working weeks decline people begin to have time to fulfill their old dream of their heart's desire.
Out of necessity or out of interest, people go back to school for the common goal――to improve themselves, and this boom in adult education, in turn, helps to raise the intellectual standard of the whole country.
