认知语言学对词的理解则完全不同,认为语言中的词是基于人们对客观世界的体验而形成的认知范畴的体现,认知范畴作为认知概念储存于大脑中,其外部表现为语言中的词.按照认知语言学的观点,词不是简单的音义任意结合的语言符号,而是具有认知和心理基础的.受结构主义语言学的影响,传统翻译理论把翻译视为一个语码转换的过程,词汇层面的翻译就是一个语言符号的转换问题.从认知语言学的观点来看,传统翻译理论把词的翻译视为语言符号的转换过程就形式而言虽无不妥,但由于它是一种完全建立在对语言形式理解基础上的翻译观,所以从根本上忽视了语言的`认知特点.本文基于认知语言学的理论、从认知范畴的视角探讨了词语的翻译问题,认为词语的翻译在形式上表现为语码的转换,但本质上则是一个认知范畴的移植过程.
